Attila Antal was born in 1982 in Subotica, Voivodina, Serbia.
He is working on his final exam film, a short fiction with puppets, working title „Play” at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, department of multimedia (film, theatre and TV) directing in the class of professor Vlatko Gilić. During his studies he has shot a number of short films of which „Encounter” got awarded at the Student Film Festival in Budapest in 2003. Short poetic documentary „Hunger” was shown at the Berlin Talentcampus in 2006 and on the Scientific Session of Hungarian Students of Voivodina in 2007.
He also directed Harold Pinter’s „Caretaker” and Jean-Paul Sartre’s „Huis Clos”, which were kindly accepted by the public. He takes part in the Rally of Playwright’s at the „Novosadsko Pozorište” in September 2007 and wins award for directing.
He is a musician and songwriter, too. He was active member of different bands, i.e. PPV, The Antals, FORMAT: A-3 and Secret Men (still).
He also writes short fiction and confessions of free associations and is working on his first play.
